Carls’ list of qualifications for the position are almost too numerous to mention. His knowledge extends across both sailing and power boats and, apart from his Yacht Broker credentials, he has RYA instructor certificates in dinghy and keel boat racing and is a registered powerboat instructor.

Nicolle Associates are delighted with their new recruit; who has worked in most areas of the yachting industry including yacht management. Adrian Nicolle, the companys Managing Director comments, “One of the reasons for our success is the extensive range of services that we are able to provide for our clients. We do not just sell boats, far from it; if you want to charter your yacht, require us to manage maintenance work or a total refit we have the expertise to do it. It is rare to find someone with a knowledge platform that extends across as many areas as Carl’s and he is already proving to be an extremely valuable addition to the team”.

2009 Oyster 655 discounted for quick sale

Saturday, March 19th, 2011

Priced to sell due to her owners change of plans, this cutter rigged 2009 Oyster 655 has a very high specification and was constructed to MCA charter standards.

Oyster 655 discounted for a quick sale

Oyster 655 discounted for a quick sale

Cruising World magazine winner of the 2010 Boat of The Year Award for the Best Premium Cruiser over 50ft.

She is equipped with an extraordinary inventory of manufacturer supplied upgrades and benefits from an upgrade to teak interior joinery, Hall Spars mast and boom with in mast furling, upgraded generator, hydraulic furling forestay / inner forestay and many navigation, electrical and domestic system improvements from the standard model.

In addition to the many Oyster upgrades to this 655, she benefits from some fabulous custom improvements that have been designed and constructed by specialist craftsmen. She has additional bench seating in absolute matching joinery style to her saloon extending the seating to a workable number of guests, she has protective covers for her floor, soft furnishings and many areas of deck equipment and a superbly improved custom stainless steel bimini matrix frame with improved canvas work and windows.

With the 655, performance was an established criterion from the outset. Designer, Rob Humphreys, created a set of hull lines with a relatively fine entry forward and a clean run aft. Add a low centre of gravity keel, a modern high aspect rudder and powerful sail plan and the result is a fast yacht that is a pleasure to sail.

The twin helm configuration puts the helmsman in exactly the right place and means that the spacious forward cockpit is safe and uncluttered. It is also much easier to get on and off the working deck since there is virtually flat deck access from the stern into the cockpit.

The Oyster 655 saloon makes best use of the yacht’s 18′ 5″ (5.62m) beam and, with the U-shaped galley to port, creates a spacious and contemporary open-plan living environment, with plenty of counter surfaces and stowage space.

The 655 has a spacious owner’s suite aft, with its own private access to deck, and three guest cabins.

British registered for secure transfer of title.

Management structure available if required.

Owners Comments

We purchased ‘Tiger Blue’ from a friend who had refurbished her on a no expense spared basis.

During our ownership we have kept up service schedules for all items.  Only selling as we now have more free time and so able now to undertake more long-distance sailing.

Life on board Tiger Blue is extremely comfortable with no compromise as to sea-keeping.  Extremely good visibility from wheelhouse steering position enables year-round use.

An extremely competent, well equipped and comfortable sea boat with a strong pedigree. ‘Tiger Blue’ has been a joy to own.

The design brief for ADJUTOR called for a proper world voyaging performance sailing yacht that can be easily handled by a crew of three. 85' Yachting Developments, NZ Performance Cruiser 'Adjutor'

85' Yachting Developments, NZ Performance Cruiser 'Adjutor'

ADJUTOR was the Patron Saint of Yachtsmen, an apt name for this well proven performance world cruising yacht. In her design and construction, all efforts were put forward to enhance the yacht’s comfort, performance and ease of handling. In this context, it is important to note that performance means not only pure speed, but the ease with which a yacht maintains that speed and particularly, the comfort aboard when voyaging.

A tremendous amount of effort was expended in the design and construction of ADJUTOR in sound attenuation, not only keeping machinery sounds to a minimum, but even to the extent of reducing wave slap at anchor. Her hull shape minimizes the slamming that occurs all too frequently when driving a flat hulled racer upwind in a seaway.

Even her furniture was custom designed to live comfortably at any attitude of heel when underway. Indeed, this is a design that was created for living comfortably in the offshore environment. She also lives comfortably – and turns heads with her remarkably attractive profile – in every port of call.

Record entry for Fastnet Race - 250 sign up within a week

250 boats have entered the biennial, Rolex-sponsored race, which has a maximum entry of 300, 15 Class 40′s have signed up, making it the biggest class in the race, followed by 14 of both the Sigma 38 and the First 40.7.

2009 winner, Niklas Zennström’s J.V. 72, Rán (pictured), has entered again, as have the canting-keel 100-footers ICAP Leopard and Rambler 100, who are expected to battle for line honours.

RORC racing manager Ian Loffhagen said: ‘We expected an initial rush of interest because people were registering the details about their boat on our REMUS on-line entry system over Christmas.

‘However nothing had prepared us for this unprecedented amount of interest in the race. We are obviously delighted at how popular the race has become with entries from all over the world.’

Entry opened at midnight on Sunday 9 January with first entry Fred Mundle signing up his X332 Mardy Gras only 50 seconds later.
