1973 Trident Marine Omega 828 for sale in Isle of Wight
This Omega 828, open cockpit, sports cruiser with a deep vee planning hull built by Trident Marine of Portchester, England and designed by the renowned Renato “Sonny” Levi is now for sale due to her owners unfortunate change of circumstances.
Recognised as the Sonny Levi fibreglass equivalent of the Fairey Marine Spearfish with arguably better / more streamlined lines. The deep-vee hull with a fine entry gives her good handling in a seaway.
She is powered by twin six cylinder Mermaid Marine diesel engines on shafts and propellers for fast offshore passages.
Her accommodation is arranged in a single cabin forward with greater space than the Spearfish providing two 6ft 6in berths which with the use of an infill could be converted to a double together with good locker space. A galley with a liberal amount of workspace is to starboard and a toilet compartment to port.
Named ‘Shikar’ by her first owner, a name that she has maintained through her entire life and as recorded in her original “Blue Book” registration document which forms part of the comprehensive ships papers.
‘Shikar’ benefits from a copper coat hull and has had a considerable refit since she last changed hands in 2006 including superstructure repaint and new teak decks (2006), Mermaid Marine engine rebuild, new fuel tanks, new navigation electronics including Garmin GPS 750 plotter with AIS 300, Icom VHF, Winter cover, Tonneau and Camper covers (2006) and new rear canopy (July 2016)
She has had little use since her owner passed away, however has still been lovingly maintained, stored under her full cover had a full winterisation including fresh water flush and antifreeze. Due to the lack of use ‘Shikar’ will be supplied with new batteries and one leaking window will be repaired.
2005 pre refit survey available.
