A very special offer to help you sell your boat

A very special offer to help you sell your boat

At Nicolle Associates we have had a very successful year so far and to keep that momentum running for clients new and old, we have a very special offer that could help you to sell before the winter.

Southampton boat show attracts visitors from all over the UK and Europe and many of them come for a couple of days to really get a good look at new and pre-owned boats for sale.

To help get your boat sold we are substantially discounting lift, pressure wash and storage ashore charges so that visitors can see as wide a range of boats as possible in one trip.

In fact the discount is so substantial that the first ten boats that are lifted ashore with us after 19th August will get a free lift, pressure wash and storage ashore until 18th October, a saving of over £1,000 on a typical 12m (39ft) boat.

If you aren’t one of the lucky ten, you will still get substantially discounted rate, saving approximately £900 on a typical 12m boat for the same package; so if you want the best of both worlds, enjoy the rest of the summer sailing and just make sure you book early to arrive ashore with us by 13th September when the offer ends.

We have been finding the right boat for the right buyers for over 12 years and have happy buyers all over the world and they come back, so we must be doing it right.

We have four in house brokers, a service department and for all of us, selling boats is personal. Our modern offices are directly opposite the Ketch Rigger restaurant and bar which is arguably the best marina bar in the Hamble.

In addition to listing your boat for sale on our site and all of the major portal sites on the web, this offer also includes free entry for your boat in to the Hamble Point Boat Show which runs to coincide with the Southampton International Boat Show in September.

We also provide a free courtesy shuttle bus from Southampton International Boat Show to bring visitors to us – because everyone knows that in the current market once buyers have seen new boats, buying pre-owned makes most sense. For those visitors traveling by car visitor parking and entry is also free.

While your boat is out of the water we can get it looking its best with great offers on cleaning, antifouling and other service and maintenance works.

We are sure this will make a difference to your pocket and to marketing your boat this selling season.

RYA launches the hugely popular Sail Trim Handbook for Cruisers

Sunday, September 12th, 2010

Today at the PSP Southampton Boat Show (Sunday 12 September) marked the official launch of one of the RYA’s newest publications, the Sail Trim Handbook for Cruisers.

Author Rob Gibson joined the RYA publications team and interested onlookers on the RYA stand to answer questions and sign copies of the new book.

BBC H2O Show’s Tracey Clarke asked Rob exactly why he decided to write the book. “I see many people out on the water who’ve spent money on their boats and sails but are not using them properly, so I wrote the book to share some of my top tips”, commented Rob.

There have been several books written about sail trimming for racers but this book focuses specifically on the cruising sailor. It’s equally as important for cruisers to trim their sails properly as Rob explained: “With properly trimmed sails you’ll sail more easily, it will be more comfortable and you’ll get to your destination (the pub!) quicker. So if you’re not going well – re-trim the sails.”

Rob also shared his top tips on reefing. “If you think about putting in a reef, do it immediately, however if you’re thinking about taking a reef out, have a cup of tea first before you decide.”

RYA Publications Manager Steen Ingerslev said: “We’re delighted that Rob could be here with us today to launch the book, which is already going like hot cakes. This book is in fact the fastest selling title in RYA history”, he told us, with currently just 27 copies left in the country!

“I’m delighted with how well the book is selling, it’s obviously something people want to read about”, concluded Rob.

Anyone buying the book could also be in with the chance of winning a fantastic competition; a one-day training course courtesy of Poole Sailing Ltd with Rob Gibson himself on an Elan 333.

The special one off training session will go hand in hand with all the advice and techniques Rob outlines in his new book.

All you need to do is purchase a copy of the new book and you’ll automatically be entered into the free prize draw.

RYA Sail Trim Handbook – for Cruisers is available through the RYA shop or pick up a copy at the PSP Southampton Boat Show for just £12.99.

Competition ends 31 October 2010.

A Navy Gun Boat and an RAF High Speed Launch secured this year as “national treasuers” where Nicolle Associates acted for the vendors are going to be the stars of the 2010 PSP Southampton Boat show when stars of ITV’s “All At Sea” arrive on board and open the Show. PSP SBS: There won’t be a dry eye in the house at the opening of this year’s PSP Southampton Boat Show as the 70th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain is celebrated at the show opening with a WW2 Navy Gun Boat and an RAF High Speed Tender, while a Spitfire makes a fly past.

Dawn Porter and Nick Hancock, fresh from sailing around the south coast of England for ITV1’s recent All At Sea three-part series, will be the official show openers – one will come in on the Navy Gun Boat and the other on the RAF tender. Both will end up in the marina as the two-seater Spitfire owned and flown by Caroline Grace thunders overhead and puts on a display for us.

After posing for photographs on the marina, Ms Porter and Mr Hancock will declare the show officially open, after which they’ll take part in a Q&A session with the show compère, discussing their experiences of sailing around the UK in the different sailing vessels.
