‘Grampus’ is an S&S Nautor Swan 47 Mark I. This gives her a larger master cabin compared to the Mark II version.

The Sparkman & Stephens Swan 47 is a very powerful sailing yacht with impeccable sea manners and performance, especially upwind. In her current configuration she is easily handled by 2 or more crew.

This Nautor Swan 47 has benefitted from continual maintenance and upgrades throughout its life, including an engine rebuild in 2017, new Mase generator in 2001, new electronics in 2011, new sails in 2011, a new water maker in 2008 to name just a few items.

Owner’s comments:

A great boat that navigates in an impeccable, fast and manageable way. Add the comfort of a new power generator, a desalinator, a motorised furler, a new teak deck with a thickness of 12mm. The Yanmar engine has also been totally renewed with a new shaft line. Propeller Max-Prop.

SY Farouche was built in may 1980 and is in her second ownership only. Her first owner bought her brand new for his 60th birthday and sailed her from the yard in Finland during summer 1980 to Sardinia where he has a house with a private dock. It is where she spends all her life cruising in the waters of Sardinia and occasionally in Corsica. She has never been chartered, nor raced or hammered. Every year, for six months or so, she was laid up on dry dock in a yard at Porto Cervo. Excellent service and careful attention were always provided to her. Between 1997 and 2000, she spends all her time on the dry dock, her first owner ageing and having other plans.

In the year 2000, I had the good fortune of purchasing her. Since she has been dry for 3 years, before putting her into the water, I took the opportunity to give her a thorough preventive anti osmosis treatment. This treatment was scientifically made, the different coats calibrated as to build a total of 0.750 mm of protection.

After that, she was sailed to France for a short while and then shipped to the south of Sweden to have her teak decks renewed and her systems overhauled and replaced.

She is now in ship shape condition and longing for some sailing adventures.

Thinking about the Swan Europeans in The Solent this Summer, this could be the ideal boat.

The Sparkman and Stephens designed Nautors Swan 47 is considered by many to be the ultimate performance cruiser and the bench mark for all future Swan designs.

One of the true cruising classics of all time with 70 examples being produced from 1975 through 1984. This 1979 Swan 47 ‘Outrageous’ is available now as her owner has purchased his next Swan yacht.

‘Outrageous’ offers the proven Swan three cabin layout which sleeps six. Forward is a Vee Berth cabin which doubles as a sail locker with large storage bins under, simply hinge the berths down for sleeping. Forward of the saloon, to port, is the enclosed guest head and shower. Opposite to starboard is a large hanging locker.

There is an L shaped settee to port in the main saloon with a pilot berth outboard. The beautiful Swan folding table with storage center is midships with a settee to starboard and a second pilot berth outboard. This layout allows for comfortable crew accommodation during offshore passages. There are built in storage compartments behind and underneath the berths and settees.

The large navigation station is on the starboard side facing forward with the main electrical circuit panel outboard. The main companionway is midships leading out to the bridge deck.

To port is the Galley which gives passage further aft to the Master Stateroom.

The master stateroom benefits from a single berth to port for passage making, a companionway out to the cockpit midships and a small double berth to starboard.

The enclosed owners head and shower is on the starboard side.

‘Outrageous’ has been maintained to ensure that she is mechanically sound for her current owner who enjoys fast passage making and racing with his family and friends.
