General Arrangement Plan available on request

‘La Fenice’ was launched in 1962 as the support vessel to the British America’s Cup challenger, Sovereign.

This Classic 31m Super Yacht is the epitome of elegance. Its sleek lines and masterful craftsmanship exude sophistication. The interior is rich with hardwoods, fine fabrics, and stylish design details.

Spacious living areas, including comfortable lounges and multiple dining spaces, make the interior very versatile and adaptable to your day to day requirements. On the top deck, you will find an extended bridge and observation room with an alfresco dining area and large sun pad offering breath taking ocean views. The main deck provides two entertaining spaces with a lounge aft, tv snug and large saloon forward. On the lower deck, you will find 4 guest cabins and 3 crew cabins offering comfortable accommodation for all onboard.

This meticulously maintained Super Yacht promises a refined cruising experience.

Some key features which should be considered:

Load Line Length exemption

Due to the age of 'La Fenice', she benefits from historical Load Line Length exemption meaning that the boat can be treated as less than 24m LOA. This means the boat could be coded under MCA Small Vessel Code (MGN280) rather than the much more complicated LY3 code, if operated under a British (UK) flag.

Christian Liaigre interior design

The Interior of 'La Fenice' was styled by the Internationally famous interior designer and architect, Christian Liaigre. You will find his masterpieces throughout the interior, including directors chairs, sofas and many special features designed specifically for 'La Fenice'.

Refit works

There have been two major refits in recent years onboard ‘La Fenice’: 2015-2016 & 2021-2023.

The most recent refit, undertaken in Southampton, UK, was an incredibly comprehensive one including a complete overhaul of the engines, new bow and stern thrusters, new generators, new Tek-Dek decks, new water maker, new electrical equipment to name just a few items. See full list below in specification.

The History of the yacht

Commissioned by the late Anthony Boyden, the financier, in 1962 to be built as the support vessel for his 1964 challenge for the Americas Cup with the 12 meter, Sovereign.

Her design came from the drawing board of Laurent Giles and was built by Richards Ironworks in Lowestoft.

Tony Boyden had recently purchased Dewlish Hall in Dorset and was undertaking significant renovations. The boat was launched as ‘Diadem of Dewlish’. The design brief was for a comfortable, seaworthy craft. She had to be able to cross the Atlantic and sail to Australia under her own steam, and have sufficient speed for her to be manoeuvred to strategic positions during the course of a 12-metre race. In addition she had to be a good example of British workmanship.

Not only was the design criteria met, the design and build team managed to create a stylish and elegant large motor yacht.

Economical running

The running costs of this boat can be kept to a minimum due to the economical engines and ability to be run like a sub 24m vessel.

There is flexibility with crewing, based on how the new owner wants to operate the vessel.

At 10 knots, the Gardner engines and generator use a meagre 40L per hour between them offering extremely cheap passage making.

The boat comes equipped with an extensive list of spares and tooling allowing for comprehensive repairs in remote locations if required.

Combined with the recent extensive refit, the running costs of this vessel should be significantly less than other vessels of a similar size.

Turn key charter ability

Should the new owner chose to do so, the boat can be coded, subject to inspection. The boat has been refitted and prepared such that she could be put into charter easily.

Branding, photography and full website can be finalised and handed over to the new owner.
