Ocean Horse (Ex Allsmoke) is the fourth hull of the 78’ miniseries, one of the most successful Southern Wind projects and featuring the design partnership of Reichel Pugh Design and Nauta Design. The general concept, the interior layout and the exterior styling are drawn by the Italian designers Nauta Design. While the UK based SP Technologies are responsible for the composite structural engineering of the hull, decks and structures, which are constructed in sandwich (Carbon fibres and Kevlar) with epoxy resin. The result is an exceedingly well-rounded yacht of excellent performance, whose building philosophy calls for straightforward, simple sailing systems, free from unnecessary complication. Ocean Horse is a real cruiser/racer, ideal both for bluewater cruising and competitive racing. She enjoys an excellent reputation on the regatta circuit and has earned her owner a nice collection of trophies, most notably:
The versatile deck plan incorporates a center guest cockpit protected by a recessed dodger, a generous sunbed area and an aft sailing cockpit with dual steering positions. In 2015, the teak deck was replaced, and the entire yacht was repainted. Ocean Horse’s interior configuration is ideal for cruising and the guest area contains a full-beam saloon plus three cabins. The aft section of the interior is dedicated to the crew and contains two cabins, the nav station and galley. Currently based in Genoa, Ocean Horse is available for visit by appointment |
