NorthSea Craft 127 now for sale
A beautifully conceived and engineered David Cannell designed ketch from 2007, with flawless fit out care of Essex Woodcraft, this very special yacht will happily go anywhere in safety and comfort.
MELCHIOR OF BEAULIEU was built in 2007 by NorthSea Craft, a subsidiary of Essex Woodcraft who in addition to building the most exquisite semi-custom sailing yachts, also build high quality bespoke architectural joinery. Needless to say, the attention to detail and quality of the internal and external fit out is flawless.
With the Colin Archer style of yachts as his inspiration, the naval architect David Cannell designed the North Sea 127 as a heavy displacement, go-anywhere yacht with traditional lines, but with all the modern creature comforts and the ability to achieve good passage speeds. The result is a beautifully proportioned canoe-sterned ketch with a powerful yet easily managed rig, large safe cockpit, and a very clever practical internal layout. David was so confident in his design and the abilities of the builders that he commissioned an example as his own personal yacht.
With three of these yachts now afloat (the third being built for an American owner), Melchior represents an opportunity to acquire the youngest of this beautifully conceived and executed blue-water cruising yacht, due to her owners desire to move into motor boating.
