The one-design RC44 was was the concept of Russell Coutts and Andrej Justin the Naval Architect. It was designed so that it could easily be transported around the world in a 40ft container: detachable stern scoop, simple keel to hull attachment and the mast in built in two sections for transport.
RC44 ‘Beecom’ is hull number 5 and was built by Pauger Carbon Ltd to a full carbon construction to be fast downwind and stiff enough for upwind sailing.
