Huntsman 31 Aft Cabin

With their flared bow, deep-V hull and powerful shaft drive diesels the Fairey Huntsman 31’s are magnificent sea boats and have a proven track record of victories in offshore races. They give a remarkably dry ride in rough weather and can hold their own with much larger vessels in these conditions.

The installation of the modern Sabre Perkins M225Ti turbo diesels allowing an easy 24 knot cruising speed with excellent economy and a “back to bare wood” professional refurbishment including new teak decks and cockpit floor, new window frames and window glass, upgraded galley with new oven/hob, fridge and counter top, new teak faced interior, new teak and holly floor, new soft furnishings/linings, new bathing platform, new radar arch, new anchor windlass, new canopy and completely upgraded Navionics that have given her a new lease of life and allow local and offshore cruising.

Often seen as the yachtsman’s choice, this Fairey Huntsman 31 Aft Cabin is special.

Part one registered since new makes for secure transfer of title, “Grey Don” has her original “Blue Book” and drawings which make her a real collector’s piece and to keep the tax man happy she is supplied with a C88 which confirms that she is VAT paid within the European community.

An extensive survey by an ex Fairey Marine employee who worked on the original construction of “Grey Don” and dated 4th July 2007 prior to the professional refurbishment is available which valued the boat at £45,000 at that time. A more recent survey during the final stages of refurbishment, dated March 2009 is also available.

Prior to the commencement of the refurbishment in 2007 this Huntsman 31 was owned by a former commodore of the Fairey Owners Club and his wife, they had many years enjoyment from her over their 15 years of ownership.
