Fairey Huntsman 28 with a great pedigree for sale in Hamble, England
A true classic sports boat, beautifully kept and cared for. Must be seen if this is the sort of boat you are looking for.
Owners Comments:
This Huntsman 28 was raced by Olympic Yachtsman and Fairey Marine Sales Director Charles Currey and Fairey Aviation record breaking pilot Peter Twiss in the 1960’s and won the Royal Yacht Squadron cup in 1967. Charles Currey’s lucky number was three, hence she raced as 333, the boat is part one registered at Lloyd’s with number 336699 which can be found engraved in the heads and remains one of the best known and most successful Huntsman 28’s that survive today.
She has been in long term ownership by the Vice Commodore of the Fairey Owners Club and founder of the Cowes Classic Powerboat Rally and is for sale due to a desire to move to a larger Fairey Boat. Specific features of her build we designed to keep her light and she remains lightweight and fast today.
Substantially rebuilt over the last 4 years she is in excellent structural order, cosmetically very well presented and has been fitted in 2014 with a zero hours pair of Perkins Sabre M265Ti giving 240hp and 38 knots. Has covered 400 miles this year and is presented in super condition. She is raring to go.
