Yacht Mariquita the William Fife designed 19 metre classic yacht which was launched in Fairlie, Scotland in 1911 and is now available to purchase through Nicolle Associates has triumphed in the 2015 Westward Cup.

The third Westward Cup Regatta hosted by the Royal Yacht Squadron was won by Mariquita on Monday 15 June after she won both races against Eleonora and Sumarun. Her helmsman described the feeling..” It’s a great achievement. Mariquita has never won the Westward Cup before. With a new crew and only a handful of race days under our belt this season, we couldn’t be happier with the result.”

Amid exciting scenes at the prize giving Mariquita’s owners were generously applauded onto the podium by the owners and crew of Eleonora and Sumarun. Mariquita’s first win of the season marks a positive start to her UK programme that includes the Round the Island Race, Panerai British Classic Yacht Club Regatta and the RYS Bicentennial.
